Welcome to our October Newsletter! Fall is here, even if the thermometer doesn’t know it!  Here you will learn more about all that’s happening at the center during the month of October and beyond! 

Join us when you can, and don’t forget to invite friends!

Our next Monthly Luncheon is October 2nd at NOON at Wiesemeyer. We have the Nitpickers entertaining! You won’t want to miss this one! We are serving fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cherry or apple pie for dessert. $10 at the door. RSVP IS VERY IMPORTANT! If you RSVP’d and can no longer make it, PLEASE call the center at 618.667.2022 and let us know! Many Thanks!
         
Drum Fun continues every Friday at 9 AM! Lisa Edwards leads the group, and it’s more fun than ever! Free to participate. No talent needed! ! Thank you, Lisa! Drummers unite!
         
Bingo continues every Monday at 12:30 at Wiesemeyer. We’ll have a light snack and there is no cost to play, and no RSVP required. 
   
We play Hand and Foot the second and third Thursdays of the month. In October we will play on the 9th and 16th from 12:45 – 3:30 pm at the office building. No experience needed! Free to play. Come one come all!
  
Our Sit n Get Fit Class meets every Wednesday at 10 AM at the Wiesemeyer building.  This class improves strength and flexibility, all in a fun inviting setting! We even exercise to the Beer Barrel Polka!  Bring a friend for this seated exercise class! Weights, exercise bands and water are provided. THIS CLASS IS FREE! No RSVP required.

Pokeno is Wed. August 15th at 12:30 at Wiesemeyer. We’ll serve a light snack, and there is no cost to play. No RSVP required.  You do not need to know how to play. Cambridge House will be providing snacks for all of 2025! THANK YOU TO ANGIE at CAMBRIDGE HOUSE IN MARYVILLE!

Our next Food and Friends meal is October 29 th at 4 PM. We are going to Uncle Linny’s in Pontoon Beach. Separate checks as always, bring a friend, and we’ll share all the news that is news! RSVP is a must!! Call the center at 628.667.2022 to RSVP. 
         
BUNCO is played the last Thursday of the month at Wiesemeyer, our next game is October 30thth at 1 PM at Wiesemeyer.  Seats are currently full; however, we are looking for additional subs. Please call the center to get on the waiting or sub list. 618.667.2022
        
Day Trips 2025
Wednesday October 8th - Stages, to see Carol King’s musical, “Beautiful.” 1 Sneaker Trip, this trip is full. Call to get on the waiting list.
Sunday December 7th 2025 - Effingham Performance Center to see Lonestar and Collin Raye’s Christmas show. We will have lunch at Niemerg’s Steak House in Effingham. More info to follow in November. 

If you have suggestions for Live and Learns, new entertainment, or day trip ideas, please let me know!  As always, my hours are generally Mon. Wed. Thurs. from 9 am till 2 pm. Please know, if I am in the office at the “house” my door is always open! If not at the “house” you can always leave a message at 618.667.2022 and I will get back with you as quick as I can!
